I tried W-231 powder and it looked like I was shooting black powder. I have not tried any other powder so if you do please let me know. I have used the Hornady 255 cast round flat nose so far and have some jacketed bullets for when I find a better powder. Steve |

| Leaving the mags loaded for long periods of time should not hurt the mags at all, and the springs will be fine. They probably should, however, be "unloaded" occasionally at the range when you go for practice. This just ensures that the cartridges are used before they can get any corrosion or dirt build up, etc which might cause chambering or extraction problems (though this is unlikely unless they are left in a humid area for long periods, or otherwise subjected to unusually dirty conditions, etc). I like to make a practice of using my loaded mags once a month and then refilling with fresh ammo just for the sake of it. Jim R |

| Its good to have some pics of how the rail looks, having a foregrip or bipod would be a nice feature to add to this gun. Chris |

Thanks for the post. Good looking guns. Seems I can never get enough gun porn in my life. what are the wop poppers anyway? That's good stuff. Nice picture of some nice pocket pistols PPD. CJ Yeah, my wife is Italian. Well, she is American, but raised by her Italian Grandma. I'll sometimes ask her when I get home "how did your Italian?" be cause saying "day go" can be so non-pc. |

| Thank you all for responding so quickly. I think I have made up my mind on the holster from reading your replies and reading past posts. I am going to go with the crossbreed mini tuck. I will post again once it arrives and I get a chance to try it out. | |

| I initially thought that a light bullet would accelerate faster in the short barrel PLR-16, would have more energy, and that would be a very good thing. Remember that energy increases linearly with bullet mass but with the square of bullet velocity. Then I looked at some gelatin test data and reluctantly admitted that energy does not tell the entire story as the smart guys like rcmodel had been telling me. A bullet can expand or tumble. In small bullets like the .223, I think tumbling is usually more effective. I think it may be about even for an AR, tumbling is probably better for the PLR-16 with less available energy, and tumbling is probably much better for a .22 LR rifle or .22 magnum pistol where there is much less available energy. Remember, it takes a fair amount of energy to expand a bullet. If it tumbles, that energy is expended on the target. The military designs 5.56 bullets to tumble when fired from an M-16 or M-4, because the Hague Convention prohibits expanding bullets. They have an artificial constraint that we don't have, but I think it worked in their favor. They got solid bullets that penetrate hard targets better, tumble in soft targets, and are cheaper to manufacture. I'd agree that those 34 grain DogTown bullets don't sound particularly impressive for social work, but if I could choose a bullet for my adversary to use, I'd pick the 6 grain Sta-Puft marshmallow soft points. |
