Kel Tec Life Expectancy

Kel Tec offers a life time warranty, so what should be expected to break down after 6000 rounds (life expectancy), and will they fix or replace the worn or broken parts for free?

Absolutely they will fix and replace parts for free.  I'd think that the springs would need replaced, and that the frame would be worn from the slide.

KT stays 6000 rounds but it may go longer than that.  Regardless of what needs replaced they will replace it.

If you stay away from +P ammo, it should last 10,000 rounds!

Anyone keep a reasonably accurate round count for their P11. I haven't had mine long enough to come close to 6K rounds. I'm wondering what the record might me.

I plan on having a navy/HC P-11 (if I can find one, if not Black/HC) by the time I get to 6000 rounds on my P3AT.  That way I can ship it to them and get it all sweetened up (if they will do that of course), and still be covered.

I don't know about most rounds through the P-11.  My brother has got to have close to 2500 in a P3AT at this point and there was a guy in the P-32 section that said he had basically 12-14,000 rounds through his daily carry P-32 and it was still ticking.  Kind of impressive for these little buggers.  I don't recall ever seeing a round count post in this forum though.  I would be curious myself.

I can't talk myself, I only have 144 through my P3AT at the moment (saving up for a P-11, but the new version will probably be here by the time I have saved up  embarrassed), but I plan to add another 100 to the total next week at the latest.    Cool

I've seen someone post with over 10,000 rounds through his P11.  IIRC, he still had the original recoil springs and we told him it was time to change them.   Grin

My P-11 just came out of retirement.  The PF-9 was giving me fits today (unreliable is not the word for it*), so Old Faithful is back in my pocket, with another 70 rd or so on the clock.

Did the person report any FTF, FTE, FTI, weak springs, or sloppy slide? I bet they had FTX by then and had a new extractor, but you never know.

What's the problem with resurrecting an old thread, if the topic and information is relevant?  I'd rather see that than repeated new threads asking the same question. Smiley

True...  At least he IS reading the old threads.  Not many do...
But he did the same thing in the PF-9 Forum, when there IS a duplicate topic ("How Many Rounds") thread active there.

No big thing if it's a topic that's "Old" (as it is here), but why, if there's already an active thread? (like in the PF-9 Forum)

just sayin'  Wink
