Rat 76 and Nu-Again-Shooter. Thank you for the offers. I was born in 1934, so I may sound senile, but I am not. I will accept one of Mr Cramers offers--really not sure which one yet. These things weigh 12 oz, I guess another alternative would be to put it into one of my old raggedy socks---one without a hole and use it as a bludgeon next time I am attacked(ha) If that didn't do it, maybe my P3AT or P40 would.

I must be lucky. Just put 50 rounds of Monarch ball & 8 rounds of Remington 102 gr. Golden Saber through with no trouble.  Just like my P3-AT. Grin Grin Grin

It was after 250 rds that mine started to act up. Probabilities are that you are all right.Probabilities are meaningless, when it is you, or me, that has the defective.

Several more of these failures have been reported, mine was just the first reported.
To Ruger's credit, I got a full refund today. Not to their credit is that the entire matter has been poorly handled, business as usual, didn't fix the weapon, and it took 22 days after they got the gun back for me to get a refund.

I had a Ruger LCP trigger fail myself after 563 rounds.  The trigger would pull all the way back to touching the trigger guard and not fire.  Before that the trigger pull was lumpy and stagey.

it had another problem.  the mag would drop while firing.  I verified that my fingers were not (!) touching the release button when the fail happens.   It happens using both my Ruger mags so I dn't think it's a mag issue.  I think the mag catch might be malformed.  The drop can be 1/8" to 1/2".  As you can imagine, when the mag drops the gun fails to feed.  This mag-drop issue happened on about every mag (on avg) during my last 2 range visits.  Previous to this I've had a lot of failures-to-feed with lots of different ammos that may (or may not) have been related to this mag drop issue.

The LCP has not been a confidence inspiring gun.  I shipped it back to Ruger for repair.  I hope it's a lot better when it returns.

I'm pretty quick to jump on the anti-Ruger bandwagon when it comes to the lcP3AT, but honestly 22 days is not bad at all for a refund to be issued.
