got it and shot it!

so the g17-type s2k rifle finally arrived from CDNN today. took it out to the range and blasted away ca 20 minutes after filling out the yellow form. 50 rounds of handloads w/o a hitch. im surprised how much it recoils considering its weight but otherwise quite fun to shoot. i was worried about the trigger but found it surprisingly nice and clean despite the heavy pull. the sights leave some to be desired though - you'd think that the bead would be roughly in the middle of the protective  ring but its way low and left even though it shots POI. not sure if this means the front sight post is canted, the barrel isnt alligned properly or what the deal is. is this a common thing?

i also noticed the primer dents being a good bit off center but ive heard thats normal and it didnt seem to affect functionality. all in all a very good day

Congratulations on your new weapon joje.  I am a new Subbie owner and my first experience was just like yours.  The front sight on mine was set low and right.  I thought that I would have to make adjustments, but mine shot point of aim.  The only thing wrong with that is that you pick up part of the sight protective ring in the sight picture.  Primer dents slightly off center.

I am still excited about the weapon and it's urban/self-defense capabilities.  Good product.

The problem I had with mine is that the gun shot way low and left of where I was aiming. I had to take the gun completely apart (there's a PDF guide floating around somewhere) and put it back together again and it shot straight as an arrow. It takes a lot of time and make sure you don't fire the hammer or you're going to spend about 20 minutes trying to get it cocked back again and out of the way so you can slide the bolt down the receiver tube.
