DS Arms 5 rounds work fine, havent tried the 10 round ones yet, the 5 round mags take two hands to insert/remove the magazine.

At my LGS I found one marked FAL metric and it was 20 round. My pusher is going to order more for me and they will probably be used also. Whatever the country of origin it works fine.

Not New or even like new. i bought 3 and returned them because they are spray painted to look new on the outside, but are crusty in side.

They are refinished, but I have bought around 24 and they have all worked great.  The feed lips have all been good and so far so good.  They are most certainly not new but the refinish job looks good (although not under close up inspection) and function is the key.

I'm new to the metric FAL mags...

thought I heard somewhere that magpul or someone similar was going to start making 30 rd polymers too... maybe that's an option!

Their non metric mag sure looks great! Wouldn't think it would take much to come out with a FAL version. Maybe some dremmel work could make it function in the RFB - let us know if you try it...

How about six of the same mags for $79?

This link worked for me on 07/04/2010 and it will still load to the cart.....

I don't have a rifle yet, but the mags "look" good.

Magpul has repeatedly stated that they have no plans of producing a FAL magazine...

Basties! Angry

I still love them for their AR-15 mags, and a few other very nice products.

It does seem odd that they're so adamant about not making FAL mags. I wonder why. The market is picking up for them, and there are a lot of us who would pay what MagPul would need to charge regardless of whether low cost surplus mags were available (not much anymore!), just because MagPul mags are so nice.

I've lost faith in the new metal DSA mags. I'm now pinning all my hopes on the new mags due out soon by Rock River Arms. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope

Jeez, I hope the magazine development doesn't take as long as the development of their LAR-8 (essentially, an AR-10).

I wondered about that too, so I bought one to see what I could see. Here's what I see so far...
* steel mags have body material that is about 0.035" thick
* PMAG body material is about 0.090" thick
* steel mags are about 0.995" wide - fits just right in my RFB
* PMAG mags are about 1.065" wide - too big for my RFB
* not as bad of a mismatch on mag length, but still too big for my RFB

So, besides not having the catch in the right place - the PMAG has material that is too thick to make it work. My guess is that Magpul felt that thinning down their material enough to make it fit would also make it too weak. The only other option - casting the mag thinner - would cause constant stress on the mag body by the bullets being a bit askew when loaded.

Conclusion: We will indeed never see a PMAG for the RFB because of fundametal material strength limitations. I suppose you could try to wait for a carbon fiber version to appear, but I'm not.

I already have this one, so I'll tinker with it some just to see what happens. Got the perfect tool for the job too - a belt sander! Would be nice to make it work somehow - the PMAG looks great squeezed up into the RFB.
