Battlecomp brake/flash suppressor

http://www.battlecomp.com/

I first saw the video of this on Milspecmonkey's youtube channel, ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEBRLHsPU68 ) and they have a bunch of videos on their site. Seems very impressive in its performance.

I know some people like their PWS FSC30 brakes. There is a side-by-side comparison video of this and the PWS brake.

Anyone ever played with one of these brakes? They seem rather impressive in their brake performance (even if flash suppression isn't as good as a Vortex, Blackout, or Phantom), and look really cool.

They're spendy (especially the large-caliber brakes now available in their store); but good quality and innovative design cost money. The question becomes, do they offer any improvements over less-expensive products in any or several categories?

The battlecomp looks really nice and very effective in the utube videos.  I did not see the performance on a 308 but I am sure there is video of that as well. The PWS brake is very effective from personal experience.  I hope to try out the BComp soon also.

I will be able to answer some of your questions as I put one of these on my RFB yesterday and will be siting in my scope again as I replaced the mount to a GGG QD mount.
The only comparison I will have is the original one because I do not want to switch compensators between rifles and I have an after market on a custom built SASS which is not as punishing as the RFB.

Thanks Mike_Davis. Looking forward to your experiences.
Please send pics of your new scope & mount as well; especially if you can get someone to take pictures of you holding it so we can see what the cheekweld is like. I find that most rifles seem to be designed for someone with really low cheekbones, so to see the sights I end up indexing my cheekweld on the joint of my jaw rather than on my cheekbone itself -- which leads to slightly less consistency and can induce small parallax errors.

Whats the deal with them shooting targets at point blank? At any range is it safe to shoot when your that close to the wall?

I guess we are all built differently because I usually have to set the rifle against my ear to see through the scope unless I have see through raised rings. Of course I will have to work with different configurations to see what fits best with the RFB.

Yes an adjustable cheek weld would be nice.  I am sure someone will come up with one, or adapt an existing design.

the fact of the matter is that lost of people shoot rifle courses , like 3 gun matches etc.. it's CQ combat scenarios , and everything is close , sometimes really close ..(powder burn close!!).. the focus is rapid shooting and quick handling through barricades , switching to weak side etc..

I think as compact and ergonomic the RFB is .. it shoud do really well , but it will take some time to get the masses to receive this rifle as a true competitor in that field ... I think it will!

Kel-tec did an awesome job in making this gun practical ! i can't wait to see some of these guns in the hands of  competent shooters putting it through it's paces in this environment !! it should be fantastic!!

I shot the RFB for the first time with the new PWS FSC30 last night. The recoil is is down to that of an AR, and the movement is mostly gone. I actually see the round impact at 100 yards through the scope on 4x if I have my stance right. (If keltec would actually build the quad rail they advertised the rifle with I could hold the rifle properly with my hand farther forward and the movement would be COMPLETELY gone)

Plus it blasts the crap out of my buddies standing next to me.

What more could you ask for from a muzzle brake ?

FYI, though, I did get a few FTF's all of a sudden, need to adust the gas system a bit...I lost my owners manual in a move and am not sure I went the right direction.  undecided

1st post, Hello everybody!!

I'm picking up my RFB tomorrow and have ordered a Battlecomp BABC to install on this rifle.  I've been using PWS brakes on my other rifles and am interested to see how it compares.

I'm looking forward to a range report on the Battlecomp, it looks interesting. Cool

I haven't shot it yet but here's mine with a BABC.  I wish Vortex would get the Viper PST optics done and shipped.
