So I went to the range to sight in my NDM-86 in .308. I'm not a precision shooter. I had no idea it was this accurate.
 
This is 100yds with South African surplus ammo.  Ignore the stringers. I was just trying to hit paper.

Here's the cool part. The elevation knob had bottomed out. My aiming point was below the target in thin air about where the quarter is. I had no reference point.
 
I can only imagine the group with match ammo and my aiming point being the bulls eye.

Thanks. Ever since I was a kid I loved the SVD. That was with the 4x scope that came with it. I have since purchased a Russian 3-9x. I think the rifle deserved a more powerful scope. Range report to come.
